Artichoke, the natural push for quality production

The artichoke is a plant characterized by high production potential, quick growth, substantial vegetative development and large productions.

Throughout the years, the need to anticipate harvest as much as possible has become increasingly more important, leading farmers to the use of a hormonal substance, gibberellic acid.
The hormonal treatment, carried out during the transformation of the apex from vegetative to reproductive (that is, 40 days before harvest), acts exclusively on growing meristematic tissues, determining an acceleration of the elongation of the cells, that turn from a round shape into a more elongated one.

As an addition to the hormonal treatment or as a substitute in case of organic production protocols, we suggest an intervention with our nutritional products Algaren Twin and Drin.
The treatment is carried out in the same time frame, with the following dosis: Algaren Twin 2 kg/ha + Drin 1 kg/ha.

The combination of the two formulas allows for an effective action on the precocity of flowering, on the anticipation of the release and growth of the flower head and on the reduction of the percentage of deformed flower heads. Further, the formulas act on the increase of product shelf life, of the resistance to thermal stresses in cold temperatures, of photosynthetic efficiency, and act also on the mitigation of the hormone-induced loss of green and shine of the artichoke, and lastly on the increase of the productive life of the artichokes, reducing its senescence.
