Project “MENO20%” and Nutrient Use Efficiency

MENO20% - Greenhas Group

Launched in May 2020, the European Commission’s Farm to Fork strategy aims to make food systems healthier, fairer, and more environmentally friendly. Among the key objectives is to reduce the use of mineral fertilizers by at least 20% by 2030 and halve nutrient losses to safeguard soil fertility.

In a context where the agricultural sector has fewer technical inputs available, Greenhas Group introduces the “MENO20%” project with the goal of disseminating new models of balanced fertilization and more efficient nutrient management. The project includes a range of selected products capable of promoting Nutrient Use Efficiency (NUE), which is the plant’s ability to acquire and assimilate nutrients.

Specifically for extensive crops, the 100% plant-based fertilizer GREIT VG is recommended for use at a rate of 2-3 l/ha in two applications:

  • At the end of tillering, concurrently with the herbicidal treatment.
  • At the beginning of heading, in combination with the fungicidal treatment.

The product is compatible with most commercially available plant protection products.
